The University of Southampton

Welcome to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities' Internationalisation webpage!  This is where we seek to emphasise the importance we give to the full range of activities and commitments that make up what we understand as 'internationalisation' in a top class research-led Faculty.

Xiamen University, China

In sum, these activities will include working to develop links and collaboration with partners across the world in order to foster opportunities in joint research, create student exchanges at postgraduate and undergraduate level, and share good practice and innovative ideas on teaching and learning in our fields.  We place as much importance on attracting international staff and students to come to Southampton to enjoy a welcoming and friendly environment here, as we do on promoting the experience of study abroad for our own home students, and preparing them to be 'global' citizens.  To achieve all of this we are mindful too of the need to reflect in our curriculum and pedagogic practices an awareness of the richness and diversity of different educational cultures and traditions across the world.

To achieve these aims we have a very active Internationalisation team within Arts and Humanities who are always looking for ways of interacting with international partners and visitors.  We are also very keen to work with colleagues to enhance the intercultural awareness of all our staff and services, as well as offering a wide range of language learning opportunities, including English language support for international visitors.

Prof Clare Mar-Molinero, Associate Dean for Internationalisation, Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Key partnerships

Our links with international partners abroad are very important to Arts and Humanities, the document below provides a list of these partnerships.  Please note that if you are a student considering a year abroad, do visit our study abroad pages.
