Dr Harriett Webster is a Research Fellow in English at the University of Southampton.

I joined Southampton in January 2013 as a research fellow on the AHRC-funded project 'City witness: place and perspective in medieval Swansea', though I also teach on the undergraduate module 'Stage and Screen'. My doctoral research was undertaken at the University of Bristol, where I had also previously completed my BA in Historical Studies and MA in Medieval and Early Modern History.

Research interests

I am a researcher on the AHRC-funded project 'City witness: place and perspective in medieval Swansea'. My primary role in the project is to produce a digital edition of the witness statements describing the hanging of the Welshman William ‘Cragh' in Swansea around 1289.

My research interests currently lie in the construction of medieval historical narratives, exploring the role of communal memory and eyewitness testimony in their composition.
