Research interests
My research focuses on foreign language learning and teaching and addresses two major areas:
Firstly, CLIL (Content-and-Language-Integrated-Learning) and EMI (English-Medium-Instruction), where a lot of my research focuses on classroom interactions. Two projects I am currently involved in address the role of English as a disciplinary language in these educational programmes. You can read a bit more about one of these projects
here
Secondly, I research teacher cognition and teacher development. A more practical outcome of this is a free digital resource for teacher educators, the
VELTE website
. On this site, teacher educators and student teachers can find video recordings of full-length lessons plus suggestions for tasks for teacher learning based on them.
In the past, I have also looked at genre use and at EFL classroom interactions - interests still close to my heart.
