Dr Sophie Edwards is a Visiting Research Fellow in Humanities at the University of Southampton.

Sophie has recently completed her PhD at University College London. Before this, she read philosophy at The University of Edinburgh. She is originally from Brighton, but currently lives in London.

Sophie's main research interests lie in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of psychology. She is interested in the nature of belief and the implications an account of belief may have for our understanding of irrational phenomena such as self-deception and delusion. She is also interested in the relationship between self-deception and self-knowledge.
