Although the job market is not very buoyant at present, humanities students graduate with many skills, we are experts in time management, absorbing information, processing and sharing it. In my opinion, you can pretty much go anywhere with a humanities degree.

Rhian Thomas is now studying to become a barrister in family law in London by taking a graduate diploma in law at City University.

“Although the job market is not very buoyant at present, humanities students graduate with many skills, we are experts in time management, absorbing information, processing and sharing it. In my opinion, you can pretty much go anywhere with a humanities degree,” she says.

She found her experiences at Southampton were useful at job interviews. “During my studies, I was a student ambassador, which demonstrated leadership, I also served on the History committee.
