The Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations within the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Outreach Fellow to support expansion of the Parkes Outreach Programme.

This position would suit an applicant who holds a PhD in the field of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations, is committed to outreach and widening participation and is able to design exciting and aspiration-raising research-led lectures and seminars for both sixth form students (particularly related to subjects taught on the national curriculum) and Lifelong Learning audiences.

Experience of teaching in Higher Education or Further Education would be an advantage. The ability to communicate to a diverse range of partners and audiences is essential to this post. The successful candidate would need to deliver a number of outreach activities outside of normal working hours.

Part Time (8 hours/week) Fixed Term from 1 September 2012 for 12 months
