Choral music from the late 15th and 16th Centuries

Binchois Consort

This programme presents little-known but beautiful choral music dedicated to saints from the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The centrepiece is the great Mass Libenter gloriabor, a neglected work of great sonority and power by the Flemish master Jacob Obrecht. This is set alongside rarely-heard masterpieces by Agricola, Brumel and others, climaxing in Heinrich Isaac's resplendent and joyous setting of the Regina caeli.
