A PhD lecture-recital by Penelope Cave

Penelope Cave is a prize-winning harpsichordist who also performs music for four hands on her original Broadwood square piano; films and recordings include Hyperion, Naxos and the BBC. Recent papers, recitals and presentations include the RMA, EPTA, the International Conference of Historic Keyboard Music at Edinburgh University, St Andrew's Music Society, The National Trust, and the Guildhall School of Music. Penelope Cave regularly tutors courses and workshops, and writes for a number of publications including, Sounding Board, the Consort and Harpsichord & Fortepiano. She was married to the instrument-maker, the late Michael Heale, and is currently completing a PhD at the University of Southampton, where she also project managed a film for the National Trust on the hidden music histories at Tatton Park, directed by her supervisor, Professor Jeanice Brooks.
