Event details

Violinist Aisha Orazbayeva and pianist Roderick Chadwick will workshop six specially composed new works by final year undergraduate students at the University of Southampton.

Aisha Orazbayeva has been described as a “profoundly radical and inventive” violinist (Sound Projector), with “a great talent for playing emotionally and technically demanding music” (Daily Telegraph). She is gaining international renown for her performances and adventurous programming, with a repertoire ranging from Berio and Nono to Telemann and Mozart.

Described by the Sunday Times as "possessor of devastating musicality and technique", pianist Roderick Chadwick combines wide-ranging activity on the concert platform with diverse teaching and research interests. He has performed across Britain at venues such as Wigmore Hall, Free Trade Hall, Aldeburgh, Buxton and Huddersfield Festivals, and made his Southbank debut playing the Tippett Piano Concerto at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Engagements further afield have taken him to Seoul Arts Centre, Auditorium du Louvre, Tokyo Opera City and Kioi Hall amongst others.Roderick lives in London and teaches at the Royal Academy of Music.
