Welsh National Opera singers, Mark Llewelyn Evans and Georgina Kellen, open Music's Italian Festival weekend

The Welsh National Opera (WNO) spend a day at Southampton, opening with a lunchtime concert of Italian vocal music by one of the UK's most exciting classical cross-over performers, baritone Mark Llewelyn Evans. Mark will be joined by soprano Georgina Kellen and accompanied by Rhiannon Pritchard to present a concert including Italian favourites from The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute.

Today's concert introduces vocal students from the Music Department to Italian opera and will be followed by an afternoon of workshops with Mary King and singers from WNO.

Free admission.

Today's event is presented as part of the University of Southampton Music Department's Festival of Italian Music, a three day celebration of the music of Italy, performed across the city by University of Southampton staff and students. For further information, please use the link on the right.
