Event details

Rameau+ new sonic worlds (4 world premieres)

The ground-breaking new ensemble Trio Aporia (http://www.trioaporia.com/) commemorates the 250th year since the death of one of the greatest French composers, Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764). Aporia will perform new, Rameau inspired commissions by Neal Farwell - Rain From Other Seasons with live electronics, Geoffrey Poole - Les Ramages, and Alexander Glyde-Bates - Objet d’Art, plus music from the master himself - Rameau’s Pièces de clavecin en concerts.

Alexander Glyde-Bates is a Southampton PhD student and Geoffrey Poole is an alumnus.

Trio Aporia consists of three leading performers (Stephen Preston - baroque flute, Richard Boothby - viola da gamba, Jane Chapman - harpsichord) acclaimed for cutting-edge contemporary and pioneering early music performances, exploring new paths that cross boundaries and classification. Jane Chapman is Turner Sims Fellow.
