Event details

This lecture is supported by Humanities, Business & Law and Amnesty International.

This is the fifth annual Human Rights Lecture and this year our speaker is Kate Allen, Director of Amnesty International UK.

'State of the World: Challenges for Human Rights'

The world is a rapidly changing place - back in 2000, some argued that the ‘end of history’ was upon us – the west had prevailed and we lived in uni-polar world. Today changing power relations would suggest we are in a period of transition, moving towards a multi polar world, where power is more dispersed.

This lecture will be chaired by Professor Clare Mar-Molinero, Associate Dean (Internationalisation).

There will be an end of lecture collection for Amnesty International.
