February 10th marks the start of the majestic Year of The Dragon. The Confucius Institute of Southampton University, in association with the Southampton Chinese Association, and Southampton City Council, is hosting two exciting events as part of the celebrations.
Chinese Spring Festival Workshops at WestQuay Southampton

February 10th marks the start of the majestic Year of The Dragon. The Confucius Institute of Southampton University, in association with the Southampton Chinese Association, and Southampton City Council, is hosting two exciting events as part of the celebrations.
On February 10th, enjoy the dragon and lion dances, starting at 10:30am at Guildhall Square. Then, from 12, the festivities continue at WestQuay shopping centre with additional performances and Chinese Spring Festival Workshops which include dragon molding, Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, lantern making and cartoon portrait painting.
Two weeks later, there's more live performances including dragon and lion dancing at the Lantern Festival at Eastleigh Marketplace as well as Lantern Festival Workshops for all ages.
The events are free to attend and no booking is needed.
