**** CANCELLED**** Due to severe weather conditions affecting large parts of the National Rail, tonight's presenter Dr Rachel Crelin, University of Leicester, is unable to travel to Southampton and will reschedule in due course.

The study of change arguably lies at the core of archaeology. Studying change is one of the most important things that archaeology has to offer the humanities - our work explores changes in materials, communities, identities, environments and ideas over the very long term. Yet, all too rarely do we explicitly theorise the study of change. In this paper I draw on assemblage theory and new materialism to explore change in prehistory. I will argue that change is constant and on-going in our assemblages at different speeds, rhythms and scales.

All welcome.
