Ann Marie Hucklebridge 2015

Ann Marie Hucklebridge's Photo

Hi, I'm Ann Marie Hucklebridge and I studied within Humanities at the University of Southampton.

I very much enjoyed my time here. I felt that I was really accepted and welcomed. The tutors have been amazing; they are all so supportive.

What made you choose Southampton?

It is at the cutting edge of research. I had also heard a lot of good things about Southampton and I thought it sounded like the place for me.

What made you choose English?

I’ve always loved English and had a passion for the subject - it made sense to do something that I loved. I want to become an English teacher after my degree.

Do you have any favourite modules?

Yes, I loved the Adaptation modules, they were amazing. I also loved the Chaucer modules, they were great. I got to study a wide variety of subjects.

Do you have a particular highlight from your time here?

I enjoyed the whole thing! I felt that I was really accepted and welcomed and it was a warm environment. The tutors have been amazing. They are all so supportive. I’ve had some difficulties this year but they helped me and stood by me.

What are your plans for the future?

I’m going to go into teaching. I’ve just been accepted onto a Schools Direct project, so I will be spending the next year training at a school.
