Iulia Motoc, Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Kent

Dr Iulia Motoc is the Post-Doctoral Researcher based in the School of Engineering and the Digital Arts at the University of Kent.  She completed her Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, and then her Masters at the University of Kent.  Her interest for her Masters study was squarely in the area of biometrics, with a focus on iris recognition using super-vector machines to detect image quality and image match.  Following her PhD in the area of robotics, Iulia is now back working in the area of biometric recognition.

Iulia’s main responsibilities within the Hummingbird Project include the testing of machine algorithms under standard and sub-optimal conditions, as well as the implementation of improvements to the algorithms themselves.  She will be working under the supervision of Dr Richard Guest.
