Dr Richard Guest is a Reader in the School of Engineering and the Digital Arts at the University of Kent. He has extensive research experience in automated biometric and forensic systems, specialising in the area of image and behavioural information analysis and standardisation. Richard’s work has been supported by EPSRC, EU, IPS, charitable funds and industry. He also has a significant involvement with ISO Standards development.
Richard’s primary interests lie in the development and testing of automated biometric systems. He has focussed on a number of novel biometrics including handwriting and signatures as means of identification. More recently, he has become interested in the meta-data behind automated verification, and as such, in understanding performance under a range of ecologically valid conditions.
