The team have recently published work which found that up to 10% of children presenting with IBD will do so with all normal blood results

It is vital for doctors to consider further investigations if the story is strongly suggestive of IBD. There may be additional new groups of patients within IBD who are characterised by specific blood results and this may helkp to personalise treatment in the future.
