Becoming an IfLS Associate

IfLS Associates are University of Southampton colleagues associated with Life Sciences research that are not currently of PI status, such as Emeritus Professors, Early Career Researchers and Postgraduate students.

Colleagues who wish to become an IfLS Associate should send their request with a brief CV to ifls@soton.ac.uk

IfLS Associate benefits:
1. IfLS support for workshops and conferences at Southampton.  IfLS Associates are encouraged to attend IfLS conferences and workshop and put forward suggestions for suitable future workshops and meetings which might benefit the IfLS community.  Details of IfLS Events are on the Events page.

2. IfLS Associates are encouraged to network with IfLS Members and Affiliates and to join relevant working interdisciplinary groups within their and the IfLS sphere of interest.

3. The IfLS Website - www.soton.ac.uk/ifls - serves as a point of contact and a projection of Life Sciences activities across the University. IfLS Associates are encouraged to submit items of note, fellowships, prizes, seminars and publications as well as input on structure and functionality. This material will be integrated into our website. Please let us know if you prefer to opt out.

4. IfLS Associates will be placed on a mailing list so that details of relevant opportunities can be circulated.

IfLS Associate conditions:
As the IfLS is not a Faculty with a revenue stream it is very important that we document successes to support the interdisciplinary strategic vision of the University.  Documenting success creates a dynamic brand that can be utilised by colleagues as support for grant applications.  To this end we request that Associates send us brief notes on cross campus research and grant applications that can be tagged as IfLS orientated.  Please send this important information to: ifls@soton.ac.uk . We would also ask that the IfLS is acknowledged on the address line of publications where the research subject is appropriate: Institute for Life Sciences, University of Southampton, UK

If you wish to be removed from mailing lists, please email ifls@soton.ac.uk
