For me, to be able to do an interdisciplinary project is perfect. I have a Mathematical background and I have always wanted to apply the skills I have in a Healthcare environment. For my Masters project I worked on building a model to aid decision making in Cardiac and Orthopaedic outpatients. I’m really excited therefore to be able to come back to University again but this time to study Genomics and apply my skills in that field.

I have a mathematical background – I studied BSc Mathematics with Accounting at Exeter University in 2004-2007 and then MSc Operational Research at the University of Southampton.  After this I went on to be an Assistant Methodologist at the Office for National Statistics and then an Operational Research Analyst at the AA.  I have always wanted to be able to apply my Mathematical Modelling skills in a healthcare environment and so I am very excited to be involved in this project.
