During my undergraduate studies, I gathered experience in nanotechnology and material science. This got me interested in interdisciplinary areas of research. I understood, that the interesting things happen in areas where two sciences overlap.

After finishing university I took on an engineering job for two years, before applying to University of Southampton. This PhD is an opportunity for me to help improve quality of life of many people by introducing a robust tool for cancer detection.

The greatest benefit of interdisciplinary programme is being able to access know-how and experience of leading figures in multiple areas of research

Research subject: Development and application of fiber-based laser sources for stimulated Raman based cancer diagnostics
