Quantitative proteomic profiling of primary cancer-associated fibroblasts in oesophageal adenocarcinoma

Dr Spiros D. Garbis and Prof Timothy Underwood co-led this study, which provides novel biological insight to how Cancer Associated Fibroblasts (CAF), a basic component of the tumour microenvironment, promotes cancer cell aggressiveness of the oesophagus. Also, this study has revealed alternative treatment approaches of oesophageal cancer through the targeting of CAF expression.
