New ‘must have’ textbook by ILAWS academics

Published: 7 February 2013

A new edition of the essential textbook Telecommunications Law by ILAWS Professors Ian Lloyd and David Mellor has just been published. It is an introduction to the basic technologies which are changing our lives, and describes the status, role and powers of the Office of Communications and the newly established Body of European Electric Communications Regulators.

Published by Sweet & Maxwell, it considers the various legal relationships which may exist between network and service providers and also the emerging 'over the top' services such as voice over the Internet (VOIP) telephony. Contractual relationships between providers and consumers are analysed and extensive consideration is given to consumer protection issues in the context of universal service and privacy protection.
