Event details
You are cordially invited to attend the first Southampton MRI Symposium on Tuesday 5th July. The joint UHS and UoS funded 3T MRI scanner became operational for MRI research in January 2015. This first Southampton MRI Research Symposium is being held to mark 18 months of research imaging on the scanner and to increase awareness of the wide variety of current and future MRI research projects in progress in Southampton (see attached programme) both at the University and at the University Hospital. The half-day programme is intended to build on the progress that has already been made, forge links and explore the potential for future work in Southampton. We intend this to be an informal, interactive meeting to encourage discussion. Please join us to hear more about this exciting and developing area of work.

The meeting will be held at the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton, in Building 45 (Health Sciences), Room 2039 (see attached map). Places are limited, so please indicate your intention to attend by replying by email to Marion Nelson ( marion.nelson@uhs.nhs.uk ) by no later than 30th June.
We have obtained a limited number of permits for parking at the Hampton Car Park (see attached ‘directions to Highfield Campus’ map) for those not based at Highfield, and an early reply indicating your need for one would increase your chance of securing it. We would also draw the attention of those planning to travel from the SGH site to the UoS Unilink U6 bus ( http://www.unilinkbus.co.uk/service.shtml?serviceid=3884 ) . The relevant services on the day would be the U6C leaving UHS at 0820 for the Highfield Interchange (which is close to Building 45 – see map) and the return U6H bus leaving the Highfield Interchange bus stop at 1316 for UHS.
