Hasan Tahsin Azizagaoglu is a postgraduate researcher at the University of Southampton. He is a double graduate of Southampton having undertaken the LL.B with Maritime Law and LL.M in Maritime Law. His research interests are primarily in the fields of Maritime Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Private International Law (the Conflict of Laws) and Marine Insurance. Studying maritime law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he has a keen interest in wet and dry shipping.
His current research focuses on the effects of exclusive jurisdiction agreements and arbitration clauses on third parties bringing direct action claims against insurers. He has been award the
2020 Claes Isacson Scholarship
for his PhD research.
He is the PhD coordinator of a Law Clinic at the University of Southampton and a member of the editorial team on the Southampton Student Law Review.
