Commercial Law Conference

Published: 19 June 2015

This year the Institute organised, for the first time, a one-day conference on the reform in Commercial Law, which took place on the 19th June 2015.

The conference covered recent developments in four key areas of the law: Carriage of Goods by Sea, Conflict of Laws, Insurance Law and Environmental Law. The conference took place at the offices of Norton Rose Fulbright LLP in the City.

Papers were presented by academics from England, Australia and Belgium, who discussed important modern legal topics such as the Insurance Act 2015, arbitration under the recast Brussels Regulation, and marine pollution and environmental damage.

Speakers included Institute members Professor Yvonne Baatz, Dr. Özlem Gurses and Institute Director Professor Michael Tsimplis, as well as practitioners from the City and other noted academics.
