This week brought the 37th Donald O’May Lecture, held Wednesday 6th November at the Law Society on Chancery Lane. This was preceded for the first time by a dinner on Tuesday night.

Our speaker for this year was Vasanti Selvaratnam QC of the 36 Group, whose lecture titled ‘Good Faith – Is English law swimming against the International tide?’ was very well received. The lecture was chaired by Ian Chetwood of Ince and a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ian Guant of the LMAA. We were very happy to welcome around 200 people from across the industry.

Thanks go to our sponsors Informa and Ince, along with the support of the wider Southampton Law School and University of Southampton community. Shown by the many banners and materials in the reception room and also by the welcome address of Professor Mark Spearing, Vice President of Research and Enterprise at the University of Southampton.

Plans are already starting for the 38th Lecture in 2020 and we look forward to another well attended event.
