On 25 and 26 March, Professor Andrew Serdy of Southampton Law School, former Director of the Institute, presented online a 6-hour module on International Organisations in the Maritime Field, as part of the Indian Navy's Long Duration Course on Law of the Sea and Maritime Law, organised by the Gujarat National Law University. Bodies discussed included the United Nations, the International Maritime Organization, the International Seabed Authority, the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. This is the first of three years in which the course will run, and it is hoped that the necessity to conduct it in the online format will have abated by 2022.
