Event details

The 33rd Annual Donald O’May Lecture will take place on 4th November 2015.

The Donald O’May Lecture has been the flagship event of the Institute for the past 32 years, and has always been used as the forum for the delivery of authoritative and challenging papers of interest to practitioners, delivered in an academic format. The Institute looks forward to the 33rd Lecture this November.

This year’s lecture will be delivered by the recently retired Commercial Court Judge, Sir Bernard Eder, who will be delivering a lecture entitled: "The construction of shipping and marine insurance contracts: why is it so difficult?". The Chair Person for the evening will be Kees van der Klugt, Director of Legal & Compliance, Lloyd's Market Association. The vote of thanks will be proposed by Joe O'Keeffe, Partner at Ince & Co.

The Lecture will be followed by a reception which gives the opportunity for attendees to talk to the speaker and also get to know the members of the Institute and network. It is our way of bringing our research interests to the City, linking practitioners and the academic world and thanking the practitioners for the support they show to us through sponsorship and participation in courses.

The Donald O'May lecture is by invitation only.
