Event details

"Anglo-Chinese Maritime Law & Practice in Transition IV" follows the Law Reform Projects of UK Insurance Contract Law and the Draft Chinese Maritime Code, as well as significant developments in case law. This event will attempt to examine the current trends in maritime law and its implementation in China and the United Kingdom, and bridging the gap between Chinese Law and English Law. This will be achieved by generating cross-border and cross-system discussions on important issues of international maritime law, trade and practice, at a time of considerable legal change within two jurisdictions respectively. The conference is targeted at legal academics, policy makers in the field, specialist legal practitioners and law students.

A truly international group of speakers will present papers, which will contribute to a insightful examination of
the intended changes relating to maritime law and practice from three linked perspectives:
–– Conflicts of Law
–– Shipping: Themes and Perspectives
–– Statutory Law Reform
