India and Climate Justice: Towards COP26 Event

This virtual conversation event will address some of the pertinent challenges underlying environment and climate justice in India, and the roles and responsibilities of the government and legislative systems, businesses and industries in tackling climate change across the region.

The conversation will highlight the key legislation and practical solutions being adopted by India to safeguard environment sustainability, alongside fulfilling the commitment towards COP26 and related global sustainable development goals. 

The event coincides with the thematic focus of the World Environment Day ‘ecosystem restoration’, and is hosted by our India Centre jointly with Southampton Law School, under our “Changing the World for Better” (CW4B) Distinguished Speakers Series. 

Sudhir Mishra

A distinguished member of No5 Barristers' Chambers, Sudhir Mishra is one of India’s eminent and finest environmental, infrastructure, oil and gas lawyers in the country. He advices local and international clients in environmental strategies, innovative sustainability practices and corporate policies for oil and gas companies. He also has unrivalled expertise in corporate litigation, healthcare laws, labour issues and matrimonial issues.

Sudhir is founder and Managing Partner of Trust Legal, one of the highly ranked top 50 law firms in India renowned for environment, healthcare, media and broadcasting areas.

In 2005, he was selected for the prestigious professional exchange “International Visitors Leadership Programme” of the US government for foreign opinion makers. In 2013, he received the Legal Era Awards for the Best Environment Lawyer. In 2020, Trust Legal has been awarded as the Environmental Law Firm and also the Litigation Deal of the Year (IBLJ).
