Event details
The 3rd Annual Conference of the IFESS (UK and Ireland Chapter) will be on April 27th - 29th April 2012 in the Muirhead Building, University of Birmingham
The UK and Ireland Chapter of IFESS was formed in 2009 to promote the research, application, and understanding of electrical stimulation.
Research into functional electrical stimulation has reached an exciting stage in its development. For example, our understanding of the way in which the central nervous system responds to peripheral stimulation has developed with new imaging technologies. There have also been significant technical advances in FES technologies for both clinical and sporting applications. In the clinical arena, the recent publications and the NICE guidelines supporting the use of FES for foot drop reflects the growing strength of evidence base.
The conference will provide an opportunity for researchers, clinicians, patients, companies, charities and other interested parties to meet and share the latest research and experience in FES. PROGRAMME HERE
Our conference theme is FES: From Basic Science To Patient Experience.
The organising committee welcome your participation in Conference as we all continue to ensure the development of FES for the benefit of patients.
