The Institute for Life Sciences is hosting the first Wessex Life Sciences Alliance Conference on Monday 17 September 2012.

This conference focuses on the areas of Genetics, Immunology, Cancer, Vaccines and Microbiology.  Presentations will relate topics to translational research and enabling technologies and include speakers from the regional Life Sciences research community.  There will be a poster session, which provides an excellent opportunity to network.

The Wessex Life Sciences Alliance, embodies the cross-sector collaborations between the University of Southampton, University Hospital Southampton, Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and Porton Down.

The objectives of this conference are to bring together key specialists from across these organisations and to strengthen the partnership through collaboration.

The keynote speaker is Prof Carl Borrebaeck , Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor at the Department of Immunotechnology and Centre Director for the translational cancer centre - CREATE Health , Lund University.
