Event details

Join us for the fourth Later Life conference in our successful annual series as we explore how health and social services can continue to transform and improve care for our growing elderly population. The Health and Social Care Act and recent Care and Support White Paper set out the government's aim of promoting wellbeing and independence for the elderly in order to reduce their risk of reaching crisis point. Later life services must evolve into systems characterised by choice, control, dignity and empowerment. Our duty to older people as a society extends beyond the defined remit of public service into a wider culture change: an increased recognition of all that the elderly have to offer, and increased support for them to fulfil their potential, leading active and happy lives embedded within their local communities.

Later Life: Engaged in Older Age will provide examples of best practice in later life care provision and suggestions for their extension to delegates' own fields of work, providing a platform for debate and an opportunity for senior decision-makers and frontline staff to engage and discuss the future of health and social care for older people.
