Event details

Dr Simon Robins University of Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon University

Following graduation in Chemistry and a PhD in Protein Biochemistry, Dr Robins took up post-doctoral positions in Bristol working on the mechanisms of collagen stabilization. These interests were extended following a move to the Rowett Research Institute in Aberdeen and, in addition to studies of the functional significance of collagen cross-linking, his studies have included exploring the application of these often unique compounds as biomarkers of connective tissue metabolism. Currently, Dr Robins holds honorary positions at both the University of Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon University.
