Event details
TV presenter and wildlife campaigner Ben Fogle plans to swim 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in 100 days in a bid to raise awareness of humanity's impact on marine life, such as overfishing and plastic waste.
Dr Matt Mowlem and Dr Simon Boxall will describe their unique research project where new micro sensor technology will be attached to Ben during his epic Atlantic Challenge, providing valuable information about the marine environment - such as temperature, currents and marine organisms - in remote areas that cannot usually be sampled.
Please be aware that filming and photography will be carried out throughout the Multidisciplinary Research Week. If you would like to object to being filmed or photographed throughout the event, then please contact interdisciplinary@soton.ac.uk .
