World Water Day: water cooperation In association with the Southampton WaterAid local group. This year we join the global community in the UN International Year of Water Cooperation. Water cooperation has multiple dimensions and a interdisciplinary approach and is therefore essential to grasp the many facets and blend them into a holistic vision. Come and celebrate. Join us for this exciting day of engaging speakers and dynamic demos.

Water quality: addressing global problems at source

Presented by Dr Jim Wright, Dr Nick Harris, Sylvia Szabo from the University of Southampton; WaterAid and Professor Stephen Gundry from the University of Bristol

Professor Jim Wright will discuss his innovative work with the University of Bristol on the Aquatest Research Programme which aims to develop a user-friendly water quality test which can be used directly at the water source in developing countries. The talk will be accompanied by an interactive demo on the Aquatest device, provided by Professor Stephen Gundry from the University of Bristol. Sylvia Szabo will discuss her latest research developments on the relationship between human capital and access to safe drinking water in developing countries.

A dynamic demo on innovative methods to monitor the chloride levels in aquatic environments will be available by Dr Nick Harris and accompanied by a poster display detailing post graduate work on collaborative networks in water quality management at the catchment scale.
