Event details

The Nano-USRG is organising a two-day workshop on Hybrid Nanophotonics for improving energy efficiency, with parallel sessions on technical training in nanofabrication.

  • The goal of the workshop is to discuss and analyse the fundamental physical properties and applications of novel hybrid optoelectronic architectures that address the global strategy for improved energy efficiency. Topics covered will include the following:

  • Hybrid organic-inorganic micro- and nano-photonic structures and circuitry
  • Hybrid organic-inorganic photovoltaic phenomena
  • Hybrid functional electronic structures

  • Hybrid organic and inorganic luminescent materials

  • Hybrid inorganic-organic biological photonic structures

Invited speakers include Prof Fritz Henneberger, Prof Frederico Capasso, Prof Nikolai Zheludev, Prof Pavlos Savvidis, Prof David Lidzey, and Dr Otto Muskens. The event will also include a limited number of contributed talks and a poster session with active discussion among participants.

  • Abstracts for contributed talks and posters should be sent by email to a.bamberg@soton.ac.uk by March 10, 2013 (max 1 page, including figures).

A limited number of grants covering travel and registration fees is available for early-stage researchers (PhD students and junior postdoctoral researchers). Applications with a motivation letter and short CV should be sent to a.bamberg@soton.ac.uk by March 10, 2013.
