Horizon 2020 is the EU's new programme for funding research and innovation. It will follow on from FP7 and will run from 2014 to 2020. It will have a predicted total budget of over €80 billion for research and development, and some of this will be focussed on developments in transport. Funding for developments in Maritime Transport are intended to be principally covered by a Public Private Partnership (PPP) approach, and the topics or subject areas for this are being finalised now. Areas of maritime research not covered by the 'Vessel for the Future PPP' will be covered by other instruments within H2020.
If you would like to find out more about the Horizon 2020 and the PPP for maritime, then please do join us over a sandwich lunch where an overview of the following will be presented:
* Brief overview of Horizon 2020
* Horizon 2020 for maritime
* Vessel for the Future PPP
* Likely project areas for the 1st and 2nd calls
* Next steps and how you can get involved'
Please contact Sandy Emmerson (details below) if you will be attending.
