Event details

The Centre for Global Health, Population, Poverty, and Policy (GHP3) and the Global South Forum presents a talk by Paul Verschueren, Chair of Southampton-based charity ‘Living Water Africa’.

Living Water Africa is a Southampton-based charity which is dedicated to eradicating Water Poverty in Africa. The charity focuses on helping marginalised rural communities escape from the poverty trap which is created by the continual ill-health and hard labour arising out of reliance on untreated surface water.

Paul's talk will argue why Water Poverty has been called the greatest scandal of the 21st Century. He will also describe some of the technical and cultural challenges involved in addressing the problem, and how we can all make a real difference in bringing about an early and sustainable solution.
