My research involves the development of mathematical models to address key biomedical questions, and to complement results obtained using experimental methods. In particular, I focus on developing spatial and temporal multiphase models (including fluid & mass transport, cell population evolution etc ) for vascularised organs, diseased tissues ( eg tumours) and for tissue engineering systems. I am interested both in deriving these models (in particular using multiscale homogenization methods), and in their solution, via a blend of analytical and numerical techniques. My research is inherently collaborative, and I work with a range of biologists, experimentalists and clinicians, both within UCL and further afield.
