Event details
Our next Disease Ecology meeting will be a journal club. Please make sure to read the information below to make sure you are prepared.
J ournal club meeting:
On the 20 th November we'll be holding our first "journal club" meeting, where we will be discussing a published paper. Please make an effort to read this paper prior to the meeting, and have a think about the good and bad points of the research, implications of the work, and what further analysis you might suggest to build upon these findings. I will present a brief summary of the work and guide the discussion.
The selected paper is: Riess H, Clowes P, Kroidl I, Kowuor DO, Nsojo A, et al. (2013) Hookworm Infection and Environmental Factors in Mbeya Region, Tanzania: A Cross-Sectional, Population-Based Study. PLoS Negl Trop Dis 7(9): e2408. doi:10.1371/journal.pntd.0002408

Upcoming meetings
From January, the meetings will run every month on the 2 nd Wednesday of the month . The list of upcoming meetings is kept up to date on this website: http://www.nicolawardrop.co.uk/disease-ecology-meetings
These meetings are intended for everyone with an interest in disease ecology, spatial epidemiology and the types of spatial analysis and modelling methods that may be used in this field. There will also be a lot of relevance in some of our meetings for researchers in similar fields (e.g. species distribution modelling, health geography).
All are welcome to join us - it's a great opportunity to get together and discuss on-going research, methods, conferences, publications and more in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Feel free to bring your lunch.
