Event details

Speaker: David Allen I have been Head of the Enteric Virus Unit at Public Health England since 2014. The unit provides national laboratory strain surveillance programmes for norovirus, rotavirus and enterovirus, diagnostic & reference services and national & international outbreak investigations. My research interests include understanding the drivers of genetic and antigenic diversity among circulating enteric virus strains, how changes to the genome of the virus leads to newly emerging strains that are associated with significant changes in the epidemiology of the virus, and understanding what the impact of these emerging strains is to public health.
