Come join us for a stimulating Lifelong Learning afternoon study session in conjunction with the international conference to commemorate the 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt. This afternoon will take place at the University of Southampton on Saturday 1 August. We have world leading specialists presenting their exciting research, with the afternoon promising to be interesting and thought-provoking ending with well-known author, Dr Ian Mortimer and his lecture on ‘The Meaning of War’.

Peter Hoskins - The Black Prince’s Victory at Poitiers, 1356
Martin Knight – A presentation of some of the European Arms, focussing on swords, in use during the period of the Hundred Years War.  This session may include weapons for inspection and handling.
Mark Hinsley - Playing for high stakes  - The humble archers stake and the battle of Agincourt
Sean McGlynn - Kings, Chivalry and Slaughter: Henry V and the Agincourt Massacre in its Medieval Context
Mike Jones - The battle of Verneuil (17 August 1424) - a second Agincourt?
Dr Ian Mortimer – The Meaning of War

Luxury refreshments – Fair Trade tea, coffee, mineral water, orange juice, fruit/herbal tea bags with hot water.  Fresh fruit basket and assorted cake selection.
