Following the tremendous success of our 2014 University Challenge, we are delighted to announce hosting another this year! This prestigious event gives you the opportunity of competing against the best universities across the UK and Ireland. Taking place between 29 th - 30 th October 2015 at our EMEAR HQ , we will invite four students from each of the top 24 universities throughout the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
As The University of Southampton is one of the leading universities in the UK & Ireland, we would like to extend an invitation for you to submit a team to compete in this exciting event.
From each university we are seeking a team of four students to work on solutions related to the evolution of the Internet The Internet of Everything (IoE) ” and the security implications related to the IoE and Machine to Machine (M2M) communications. The premise of this event is to engage with students and universities in thought leadership on how the IoE will shape the world.
The challenge itself will be derived from a selection of use cases presented on the morning of the 29 th . The teams will then work on producing a Proof of Concept (PoC) in software, with a short demonstration to our esteemed judging panel on the morning of the 30 th . The outcome of the event is to develop a working prototype that exemplifies the functionality required by the chosen enterprise use-case. With this being a technical/business orientated challenge; each team will require a Project Manager (PM) and Business Analyst (BA) in order to succeed. Both roles are integral to the success of the team and are required to support the go to market strategy, sourcing enterprise use-cases for the solution and charting the project roadmap explaining and presenting the business case and value of the chosen solution.
The challenge is open to all degree types within the 2 nd , penultimate or final year. This includes BA, BSc, MSc, MBA & PhD students. The winning university will receive prizes and trophies.
