Education in a globalised world

Global Education
Global Education

Education in a globalised world is an exploration of the prevalent role that Education currently has at the global stage. It discusses how globalisation has changed policies and practices at the global, regional and national levels. A variety of examples to illustrate current global changes at different educational levels are explored such as the influence of international league tables in secondary education, regional policies aiming at harmonising practices in Higher Education and the growing influence of international organisations in Education. Vignettes from different countries are presented to illustrate the different ways in which policies and practices in Education globally are being reshaped as a result of globalisation.

The academic organising this topic is Dr. Marta Cristina Azaola, Lecturer within Southampton Education School.
