The Knitting Reference Library holds a large collection of printed books and journals, including a collection of 19th century knitting manuals which have been digitised and are available online. These were donated by the late Richard Rutt.
Reading matter is intended to provide access to these Victorian knitting manuals. It will also include reading lists on specific themes which we hope will help you with your research on particular topics. All the material listed will be from the Knitting Reference Library however the journal articles will be from the main part of the School of Art Library.
Our aim as always is to encourage a range of users from different backgrounds working in a variety of contexts to access and engage with these collections in support of education and research.
