An exhibition entitled 'Knitting 1914-2014' was held from 10th February to 4th April 2014 in the Special Collections Gallery at the Hartley Library on the Highfield Campus, Southampton.
The exhibition comprised selected material from the Knitting Reference Library and the Knitting Collections held by the University of Southampton Library. It also showcased work by Winchester School of Art knitwear students.
The exhibition was curated by Linda Newington, Head of Library and Archive Collections for Art and Design, with exhibition design and preparation by Special Collections.
There were two linked study days held on 2-3 April 2014. The first day took place at the Highfield campus and provided an opportunity to visit the exhibition. The second day was held at Winchester School of Art and included an opportunity to visit the Knitting Reference Library.
