The International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE) series provides an international forum for researchers, engineers, managers, technicians and students from the scientific and industrial communities to meet, share and discuss advances in technology within the fields of ocean, offshore and arctic engineering. This year's 41st OMAE was held in person from 5th to 10th June in Hamburg, Germany.

IROE PhD student Oscar Festa and Research Fellow Katherine Kwa attended the conference and Katherine presented a research paper on ‘A numerical macro model to simulate the whole life response of anchors for floating offshore renewable energy systems.’

The conference was an excellent opportunity to meet, interact and discuss new ideas and issues pertinent to addressing climate change via the development of new, more efficient, and sustainable offshore renewable energy infrastructure. The social networking events including the Conference German Barbeque Beach Banquet were very well-received and also gave attendees the opportunity to enjoy Hamburg’s harbourside.
