The Intelligent Structures for Low Noise Environments Research team were present at New Scientist Live 2019, engaging with the public about our research and the benefits it could have to the wider community.

Two of our researchers attended New Scientist Live 2019 as part of the BAE Systems stand. New Scientist Live is a large science and technology exhibition at the Excel Centre, showcasing the cutting edge of STEM research. The event includes over 120 talks about different areas of scientific research, more than 150 seperate exhibits and was attended by over 40,000 people!

Our team were demonstrating their current research in Active Vibration Control and Acoustic Black Holes to the wider public, and engaging with young people to show them the benefits of pursuing a STEM career.

During New Scientist Live 2019, one of our researchers managed to capture the following photos and video of the event, showing the BAE stand and the representation from the ISVR.
